Electrochemically Programmed Electromagnetic Camouflage Through Reconstructing Atomic Coordination
Abstract
ABSTRACT Electrochemical ion injection enables the active control of electronic structures and thereby electromagnetic camouflage. However, the effect of atomically coordinative evolution, such as displacement and clustering, on electromagnetic response remains unclear. Herein, we demonstrate abnormal enhancement of dielectric polarization due to the electrochemical reconstruction of ripples, single atoms, and clusters. The initial crystalline distortion promotes the dielectric screening to produce the polarization hotspot. Subsequently, the reduced Mo single atoms and their clusters form local dipoles. These effects allow modulation of reflection loss value within −4.5 to −23.5 dB. A pixelated framework with charged/discharged “on/off” units realizes the programmable electromagnetic camouflage.
